Privacy Policy – FinishModeler
1) Overview
FinishModeler is a Revit add-in. To provide licensing services and protect intellectual property, the add-in requires periodic internet connectivity to communicate with our secure servers. We collect only the data needed to provide licensing, activation, fraud prevention, and support.
2) Who is the controller
A.K BIM-SOLUTIONS is the data controller for data processed in connection with FinishModeler licensing and support.
3) What data we process
A. Data you provide
- Email address (entered during license activation)
- License key
- Support messages you send us (if any)
B. Technical data
- Machine identifier (hardware fingerprint used for license binding)
- Basic activation/validation metadata (success/failure, timestamps)
- Server communication logs (IP addresses and timestamps transmitted during periodic license validation checks)
- Region/license-scope flag (for feature gating, e.g. Israel-specific features)
C. Local app data (stored on your computer)
- Encrypted local license file
- Trial anchor data (for trial abuse prevention)
- Local settings files used by the add-in (e.g. feature settings)
The add-in does not access, read, or transmit your model data (RVT files) or personal files from your computer, except for the technical metadata required for licensing as described. All server communication is strictly limited to the technical validation of your license status.
4) Why we process this data (purposes & legal basis)
We process data for:
- Contract performance – to activate and validate paid licenses via online verification.
- Legitimate interests – fraud prevention, abuse prevention, machine binding, security, diagnostics.
- Legal obligations – where required by law (accounting, tax, legal requests).
For users in Israel and other jurisdictions, we rely on the corresponding lawful basis under applicable law (including contract, legitimate interest, and legal obligation).
5) Payments and licensing providers (third parties)
We use third-party services:
- Lemon Squeezy (payment processing, order/license infrastructure)
- Cloudflare Worker/KV (secure license proxy, server-side validation and machine-binding storage)
Your payment details are processed by Lemon Squeezy under their own privacy policy. FinishModeler does not store full card details.
6) Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to operate the product (e.g., Lemon Squeezy, Cloudflare), under contractual and technical safeguards.
7) International data transfers
Because our providers operate globally, data may be processed outside your country (including outside Israel/EEA). We rely on provider safeguards and standard contractual mechanisms where required.
8) Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for:
- Licensing and account history
- Fraud/security prevention
- Legal/tax/accounting compliance
- Dispute handling
When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymized where feasible.
9) Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures, including:
- No Lemon API secret in client add-in
- Server-side proxy validation
- Encrypted local license storage
- Access controls and least-privilege service configuration
No system is 100% secure, but we continuously improve protections.
10) Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including Israel, EU/EEA, UK, California and others), you may have rights to:
- Access your data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete data (subject to legal/contract constraints)
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Data portability (where applicable)
- File a complaint with a supervisory authority

11) Children
FinishModeler is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect children's data.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted with an updated "Last updated" date.
